The Ursuline Franciscan Sisters of Mysuru Province set foot in the Andhra Pradesh on the invitation from the Pallotine Fathers to collaborate in the field of education. Apart from education ministry in Pallotti School, the Sisters are also involved in pastoral activities in the Parish and visit to the villages. In the course of time visit to the villages opened the avenues to understand deeply the socio- cultural reality of the place. Currently, social development has been given more importance by the Sisters. Under the leadership of the Coordinator Sr Premalatha C, literacy program is being organized for children who are dropped out of school and their empowerment is taking importance. The target group of this Premanjali Centre is SC/ ST category and the poor. The Centre is also collaborating with Vijayawada Diocesan Social Service Centre for the vocational training. Skill trainings and leadership trainings are organized in the Centre. Youth Programme, importance of women & girl child, effectiveness on time management, distribution of dress and note books for poor children, health and sanitation, human dignity of the poor and marginalized are some of the works undertaken by the Social Centre. Along with Social activities writing Catholic family cards, visit to catholic family, taking care of the spiritual needs of the people are also taken up.
