Nirmala Convent was started on May 27, 1975 at the request of Bishop Mathias Fernandes. Srs. Jacintha Pinto, Jaya Joseph and Mary Rego were the pioneers who had to usher in their apostolic life through a threefold task; educational, pastoral and socio-developmental. Nirmala Convent School was opened on 1 June 1975. Fr Mascarenhas the Parish priest helped the Sisters in the construction of the convent and School. Development has taken place in all three areas of apostolate. Under Nirmala Seva Kendra various activities of empowerment of the marginalized is taking place. An English medium School is gaining momentum in the recent years. Collaboration in the parish activities by way of assisting in the liturgical, para-liturgical and faith formation is done faithfully.
