The services of Ursuline Franciscan Sisters in Shanthipura as Sub-station of Hunsur parish were done from St Joseph Convent Hunsur. A proper convent was established on June 1, 1968 with Sisters Ephiphania Fernandes, Clotilda JK and Magdelene D Souza. Along with the Pastoral activities education ministry also started in the same year. The establishment of High School the situation of Shanthipura village changed. The students after completing secondary education moved out of the village for higher education. The number of priests, religious and other entrepreneurs are the evidence to this fact.

Social service and health care were also part of Sisters service in the past years. Active involvement in the parish, regular visits and prayers in the families take the major part of the Sisters’ service in the place.
