Premanjali, Pedana - 7 June 2006
The Ursuline Franciscan Sisters of the Mysore Province set foot in the State of Andhra Pradesh at an invitation from the Pallotine Fathers especially Fr Kishore Babu SAC. They arrived at Konkepudi in Vijayawada on June 7, 2006. Rev Sr. Leena Mascarenhas the Provincial Superior and her team having studied both the context and the scope offered for a fruitful ministry in socio-pastoral and educational areas chose Srs Fridesville Menezes, Pushpa and Sheela Mary to be the pioneers at Konkepudi. The Sisters namely; Pushpa and Sheela Mary began residing at Konkepudi in two rooms allotted to them by the Pallotine Fathers and began teaching in St Vincent Pallotti School Konkepudi. In 2010 November Sisters started living in the newly inaugurated Premanjali Convent in the prmises of Pedana Parish.
Besides teaching at Pallotti School Sisters involve themselves in faith formation, Sub-station ministry, youth ministry in the parish and social service to the people of Pedana and surrounding villages.
