The name Udayagiri means ‘eastern hill’ or ‘hill of sunrise’ signifies newness. It is located 96 Kms from Nellore. Udayagiri is certainly a new beginning in the diocese of Nellore.

The Sisters received an invitation to Udayagiri from Bishop DM Prakasam of Nellore Diocese through the mediation of Fr. Denis D’Souza the parish priest of Udayagiri.  Rev Sr. Olinda Sequeira the Provincial Superior responded to the invitation positively. The pioneers Srs Precilla D’Souza and Amitha J. began their ministry in the diocesan school and pastoral apostolate staying in a rented house close to the parish.

An official agreement between Rev Sr. Apoline Cordeiro the Provincial Superior and Most Rev Dr DM Prakasam Bishop of Nellore was signed on 19 September 2013.

At present Srs Sagaya Selvi, Gretta Sequeira, and Severin Rodrigues are rendering their loving service by taking active part in the school, liturgical services in the parish, teaching catechism, visiting the sick and holding family prayers.
