St Philomena’s Little Boys Home is the Mysuru Diocesan program where Usruline Franciscan Sisters render their service in taking care of the little boys irrespective of class, creed and religion. Its s a special call to take care of the little ones who mostly come from broken families, Semi orphans who really lack parents love in their life. This house was started in the year 1976 September 29 with the pioneering of Sr. Fridsevlle Menezes and Sr. Irene Vas. Presently Sisters reside in the conducive home provided by the Diocese. The decree of Canonical Erection was issued on March 31, 2008 on the feast of Annunciation of our Lord given by the Generalate, Sommarpann.  Presently Sr.Felcy D’ Cunha the animator of the community serves in the Diocesan Social Service Centre (ODP). Sr. Benvita D’ Souza as warden takes care of 46 little boys and Sr. Mary Gonsalves serves as a lecturer at St Philomena’s College, Mysuru. Pastorally Sisters take care of catechism, communion distribution, organizing Eucharistic Adoration, and partially take care of Catholic enquiry.   UFLA members assist the Sisters in the pastoral work as well as charitable service to the neediest ones. The house being in the center of the city the guests who come to the house are taken care offering Franciscan hospitality.
