A Newly built St Mary’s Convent Chapel was inaugurated by Rev. Sr Lily Fernandes and was blessed by Most Rev. Dr K A William, Bishop of Mysore. Chapel is quite spacious and conducive for prayer.

New Convent Building Inauguration

Divya Jyothi new convent building  at Udbur was inaugurated on 20 October 2020 by Rev Sr Lily Fernandes, Provincial Superior and was blessed by Most Rev. Dr K A William, Bishop of Mysore. Thereafter a small felicitation was held to honour and recognize the services of persons worked in erecting a beautiful convent building.

All Superiors Meet

On June 30, 2019 All Superiors Meet was organized by the Province at Maria Niketan, Bogadi. Rev Dr Francis Serrao, Bishop of Shivamogga gave a session on Good Governance and in the after guidelines was given to the Superiors and the Head of the Institutes. It was a joyful gathering. A good number of Sisters were present.

All Bursars Meet

On June 29, 2019 Bursars Meeting was held at Maria Niketan, Bogadi. All the bursars attended the meeting and discussed the method of accounting and the new rules that are introduced by the Government. Sr Sandra Pinto the Treasurer of the Province and Sr Daisy D Costa the Revisor of the Congregation gave a session on Accounting and cleared the doubts on maintaining the accounts. It was indeed an informative session.

Happy B’day Dear Sister

May 14 is a memorable day to Maria Kripa, Provincialate as we celebrated the Birthday of our Dear Provincial Superior. Sisters from the Zone and the Neighboring convents were present for the celebration and wished her and made her day a joyful one.

First Profession

On April 26, 2019 four of the Novices consecrated themselves to the Lord as they made their first profession at Maria Niketan Bogadi. It was indeed a great joy to the Province and Congregation as 4 Sisters became the Member of the Congregation. Parents of the Sisters and the sisters were present for this celebration

Perpetual Profession

On April 30, 2019 5 Junior Sisters made their Perpetual Profession at St Joseph’s Cathedral Mysuru. Rev Dr K A William Bishop of Mysuru concelebrated the Hole Eucharist and during felicitation he wished well. Parents of the Sisters, friends, well wishers and the sisters were present for this celebration.

Maria Niketan Novitiate hosted the Exhibition on the Life St Angela Merici

The novices Celebrated the feast of St. Angela Merici the Patron Saint of the Congregation on 27, January 2019. To mark the day, they had put up the exhibition on the life St Angela Merici. It included major life events of St Angela Merici, like, her family tree, her mission, vision of ladder and her pilgrimage journey to Holy land and her last days here on earth. The novices have very beautifully depicted it with their creative ideas. All those who had witnessed it had a words of appreciation to the creative ideas of novices.

 

Get Together of the Sisters Involved in Social Development and Health Apostate

Mysore Province had the privilege and honour of hosting the get together of the Sisters involved in Social Development and Health Apostate at Congregation level was held on 23 November 2018 at St Mary’s Community Health Centre H D Kote, Mysuru having the theme Empowering Adolescents: A Prophetic Call for Launching Deeper.

Rev Sr Susheela Sequeira, Superior General the president of the day in her inaugural address appreciated the dedicated and committed service of the Sisters in the field of social and health apostolate and invited them to continue the same work by reading the signs of the time, updating oneself with the needed knowledge and information to make their services more effective and fruitful.

The resource persons Dr Sr Hilda Rita Lobo and Rev Fr Veeresh Moras enlightened the gathering with their expertise on the theme. That was followed by Province wise group discussion. The input sessions and the group discussion were geared towards the empowerment of teenagers. The topics have impressed the gathering and inspired them: To accompany the youth, to create space in schools and within their own communities, to provide a platform to build self confidence by acquiring life skills, availing guidance and counseling when they come across with day today problems.

Gathering such as this one was held for the first time in the Congregation. There were nearly 120 Sisters from the whole Congregation. It was possible because of the direction of Rev Sr Susheela Sequeira Superior General and planning and execution by Rev. Srs Milly Fernandes and Lydia Serrao the coordinator of Socio-health development with the assistance of the core group.

It was a wonderful experience of sharing of the responsibilities of the day by all the Provinces. A special thanks to the Superior Sr Mary Mendonca and the Sisters of Sanjeevini and the Communities of St Philomena’s, St Mary’s and Christa Raj Convent, Naganahalli for their fabulous hospitality.

All the Provincial Superiors with their team members were an encourage presence.

For the validity function concluding words were expressed by Sr Annie MA the vice Provincial of Mysore Province in return Superior General and her team honoured her in the absence of Provincial Superior. And a capturing tableau was presented by the novices of Maria Niketan Novitiate.
