The Alumni get- together plays an important role in helping to shape the future of our school by presenting the views of its members and contributing in the building of the school. The most excited alumni was organized on 4 February 2018 to celebrate golden jubilee of their alma mater, to renew old relationships and start anew. Rev. Fr. Naveen Kumar was the chief guest, Mr. Vimal Raj, Dr. Murali Mohan were invited as a guests of honour.

Many old students were present for this function. Our student Fr. Prasanna OFM Cap was the master of the ceremony, Members of the Alumni were very happy to recall their old memories. Mr. Vimal and Dr. Murali Mohan in their speech they shared how this school shaped their personalities, recalled all that the school has done to them.  They said, today they are in high position just because of this school and the staff. There was much joy and celebration while they engaged in games conducted by Mr Justine Raj.

Seminar for teaching Sisters

Deputy Secretary of Mysore Province Sr. Lilly Rodrigues conducted one day seminar on Counselling Skills, for all the teaching Sisters, Principles and Headmistress’ of UFS Management Schools and those who serve in other Diocesan Management schools.

It was conducted in three batches in three different places. First batch of 18 Sisters was in Nirmala Convent, Balehonnur on 9 January 2018, Second group of 34 Sisters was at Deepanjali, Allanhalli on 11 January 2018, Third Group was at Deepanjali, Allanhalli, for all the Principles, Headmistress and other remaining Sisters on 11 February 2018.  

The Purpose if this Seminar was to become fruitful in the Educational Apostolate with transformative attitude towards one’s own life and towards others. To understand the Students and to handle them effectively. It was a day’s Seminar of high quality conducted by Rev Sr Severine Menezes SAP.

Ursuline Franciscan Lay Associates get –together

October 21, 2017 is the red-letter day to the Sisters of Mysore Province and the members of Ursuline Franciscan Lay Association (UFLA) as they celebrate the Founders day and on the same day UFLA get-together of Mysore Province was organized at Bogadi.

The days programme began with a meaningful prayer service led by the Balehonnur UFLA unit followed by the lighting the lamp by the dignitaries of the day. V Rev Sr Susheela Sequeira, the Superior General, the president, Rev Fr Ronald Cardoza the main speaker of the day, Rev Sr SeverineVeigas the Provincial Superior of Hubli Province, Rev Sr Tressy D Mello the Assistant Provincial of Mangalore Province, Rev Sr Apoline Cordeiro the Provincial of Mysore Province and Rev Sr Lilly Rodrigues the UFLA Coordinator of Mysore province were the guests of honour.

In her inaugural address the president while highlighting the theme of the day recalled the bond of love that keeps the family united that which becomes the foundation for happy and healthy society.

The spokes person of the day Rev Fr Ronald Cardoza spoke on the theme Preethi Kutumbada moola swasthya samajada adipaya (love is the source of the family and foundation for the healthy society) with illustration and made the audience to be clear of the concept. The members were determined to make their family a loving and witnessing one. Thereafter in the thanksgiving Holy Eucharistic celebration we drew strength from the Lord for living a value based life and to ignite the love in the family.

In the afternoon the various UFLA units staged entertaining and inspiring programme on the day’s theme that appreciated by all present. Thus the curtain drawn with an anthem.

Ursuline Franciscan Blooms Convention

Theme: Care and Compassion towards the poor

The first convention of Ursuline Franciscan Blooms (UFB) of Mysore Province was organized in five different zones namely; Balehonnur, Thirthahalli, Chennai, Hunsur, Bengaluru on 2 December 2017. The programme began with prayer service followed by the lighting the lamp by the president, chief guests, zonal leader and the representatives of UFB.

In the inaugural speech the president highlighted the role of UFBs and encouraged them to shine with Christ’s values and use all their potentials to make the world a better place. To get familiarized with the members of other schools of the zone ice breaking games and action songs were organized. As a result strangers became friends.

Bible quiz was the chief activity that created interest in the blooms to learn and love the Bible that influences their life. The winners were applauded for their interest and active participation.

The chief guest of the day enlightened the groups on the theme ‘care and compassion towards the poor’ with examples especially of St Mother Theresa of Calcutta and Pope Francis. The members expressed goodwill to become more compassionate and caring in whatever way possible to them.

The reports of the activities of UFBs in their respective places was projected on screen by the animators. It was heartwarming to see the variety of acts of love and compassion expressed and the involvement done in the school and parish. Animators were thanked for their unassuming service.

Each unit staged a small entertaining event on the theme that made everyone relaxed and happy. All the members were distributed with mementoes to mark the event. That was a memorable get-together of UFBs of the zones ended with UFB anthem
